We were directed again to our parking areas and after parking worked our way to the entrance gates.Alex is careful not to get in the way of the arriving cars that are still pulling in to park.I've often wondered what the figure would be if we added up all the Horsepower of all cars on the tour? Astronomical I'll bet!
The Hot Rod Magazine tour bus just pulled up on the track and parked.Alex and I wore BRIGHT colors so we would be easy to locate in pictures... So did most of the Longhauters. Ha.There were a lot of "give-a-ways" like a built up Chevy small block engine that was won by someone in the stands.
This 2010 Camaro was also won by one of the LONGHAULERS. When the ticket number was announced you could hear his YAHOO!!! From a mile away. Ha.This is a photograph of a tee shirt that someone was wearing that sat in front of us. It's an achievement to BE included in the group as a LONGHAULER!Alex got this photo of me wearing my Yellow shirt. Alex wore a BRIGHT Green shirt AND hat so we could find ourselves in the Group Photo HOT ROD prints in their magazine each year. It worked!
The last three photos are of Alex and I heading home but not before having a wonderful breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants The Cracker Barrel. We crammed a lot of activity into a week, and we drove 3505 miles in the process. Alex has always remarked each year when we do the Hot Rod Tour that seeing our own beautiful country is a wonderful experience for him. I too feel the same. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I too strongly urge all of you enthusiasts out there to consider joining us NEXT June for HOT ROD Power Tour in 2010. The tour is comprised of six or seven "HOP'S" of no more than 250 to 300 miles between stops to the next car gathering in whichever City is designated. Stay for the show that day, rest in that city overnight and then off to the next stop. You'll have a LOT of company, 2700 cars this year. Is anyone out there up for it? Chip
